Elkhorn Lake has been cleared for use after a Blue-Green Algae watch.  The pump has been reactivated and can be used for watering animals again.  We appreciate your patience while we waited for this issue to clear up.

Elkhorn Lake in Holton is currently under a Blue-Green Algae Watch until water tests confirm the levels of the algae present in the water.  As a precaution, the lake has been posted and the water pump station has been closed until further notice.

Blue-Green Algae can be harmful in animals, so we are asking all residents to keep their pets away from the water until further notice.  Since the water pump station is used to water livestock, we have changed the lock to make the pump inaccessible to the public.

We will monitor the water and let everyone know when it has been cleared.
