Prairie Lake
Prairie Lake is a City-owned lake covering 43 water acres and provides fishing, camping, picnicking, shelter houses and other outdoor recreation. Fish include large-mouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, and bluegill. Campsites have electricity at each site with a beautiful view of the lake. Want to know more? Banner Creek Reservoir
Banner Creek Reservoir is a Jackson County operated facility that covers 550 water acres with camping, fishing, water skiing, boating and many other outdoor activities now available. Banner Creek is located just 1 mile west of Holton.
Linscott Park
Linscott Park has tennis courts, horse shoe pits, large shelter house available for reservation and up to date children's playground equipment.
Rafter's Park
Rafter's Park has sand volleyball courts, ball diamonds, municipal swimming pool, fishing in Elkhorn Lake and 2 shelter houses available.
Golf
Holton Country Club offers a beautiful and challenging private nine-hole golf course with grass greens; visitor privileges for out-of-county guests.
Searles Park
Adjacent to Rafter's Park this beautiful burr oak tree has a crown spread of over 93 feet and at over 200 years old it is one of the largest burr oak trees in Kansas.
Chandler Park
Chandler Park consists of a 2 ball park complex with handicapped accessible restrooms and concession stand. Optimist Field is a full size baseball field and Oldham's Field is for softball at it's best.
Countryside Park
Countryside Park is a wide open park utilized for many sports including soccer with room for all sizes of fields and plenty of room for a full sized football field. Countryside Park is the location for
Dogwood Park,
our dog park completely funded through a donation from the Judy Hann Estate. The dog park has areas for both large and small dogs, and fun toys for the dogs to play on. Dogs must remain on a leash until within the confines of the park.
